Digital Millennium Copyright Act — Notice & Takedown Procedure  |  Effective March 16, 2026

1. Overview

SolarPanelCalculator.site respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. We respond promptly to valid copyright infringement notices submitted in accordance with this policy.

If you believe content on our site infringes your copyright, follow the procedure below to submit a takedown request. Notices that do not meet the legal requirements may not receive a response.

2. How to Report Infringement

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on their behalf) and believe that content on SolarPanelCalculator.site infringes your copyright, please send a written DMCA takedown notice to our designated Copyright Agent:

3. Required Information

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a valid DMCA notice must include all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work — describe the work you claim has been infringed
  2. Identification of the infringing material — provide the specific URL(s) on our site
  3. Your contact information — full name, mailing address, phone number, and email
  4. Good faith statement — a statement that you believe the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  5. Accuracy statement — a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  6. Signature — your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is accepted)

Notices missing any of the above elements may not be processed.

4. Our Takedown Process

Upon receipt of a complete and valid DMCA notice, we will:

  1. Review the notice within 2 business days
  2. Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content if the notice is valid
  3. Notify the user whose content was removed and provide a copy of the notice
  4. Allow the user 10–14 business days to submit a counter-notice if they believe the removal was in error
  5. Restore the content (at our discretion) if a valid counter-notice is received and the complainant does not obtain a court order

5. Counter-Notice Procedure

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Your counter-notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material removed and its previous location on our site
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address, and phone number
  5. A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your judicial district, and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant

6. Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, SolarPanelCalculator.site will terminate the access of any user who is found to be a repeat copyright infringer. We track all valid takedown notices and act accordingly.

7. False Claims Warning

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly misrepresents that content is infringing — or that content was removed due to mistake — may be held liable for damages, court costs, and attorney fees. Do not submit a DMCA notice in bad faith.

8. Fair Use

The DMCA does not override the fair use doctrine (17 U.S.C. § 107). Uses for purposes such as commentary, criticism, news reporting, education, scholarship, or parody may qualify as fair use. We take fair use into account when evaluating notices. Please consider whether the use may be lawful before submitting a claim.
